Since its inception, Blockchain & Crypto Assets Committee has been focused on building a regulated ecosystem for Crypto in India.

The Blockchain and Crypto Assets Council  (BACC)  is a Mumbai-based not-for-profit association under the aegis of the Internet and Mobile Association of India.  BACC represents the interests of the members and works toward consumer protection.


Formed in 2019, BACC membership is open to all stakeholders of the crypto ecosystem in India like Crypto Exchanges, NFT Companies, NFT Artist, Crypto investors, Law firms, and Academicians & businesses looking to leverage the technology in a compliant manner.

BACC believes in supporting a regulated environment for crypto ecosystem development in India. This can be achieved by close collaboration with existing stakeholders like Regulators, Policy Makers, Government officials, and Industry.

BACC support extends to market research, collection of market intelligence, and creating a proactive environment to exchange market information in terms of technology, accounting, regulatory requirements, and actual business practices.

Mr. Ashish Singhal is the Co-founder and CEO of CoinSwitch. Before starting CoinSwitch, he held various leadership positions at Amazon, Microsoft and Livspace. His problem-solving mindset has led him to win every major hackathon in the nation. In 2017, he started CoinSwitch, a global aggregator of cryptocurrency exchanges. Under Ashish’s leadership, CoinSwitch scaled to profitability within a few months of launch and is today a leading global cryptocurrency exchange. In June 2020, CoinSwitch launched CoinSwitch Kuber, an INR to Crypto on-ramp platform which has now become India’s largest cryptocurrency platform within a 1.5 years of its launch with a valuation of $2 Billion.

Mr. Sumit Gupta is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CoinDCX, India’s safest cryptocurrency exchange. Beginning his journey in the world of business at the age of eight, Sumit showed an early proclivity for entrepreneurship. When Bitcoin began gaining traction in 2014, Sumit saw the potential of leveraging blockchain technology to enable financial inclusion. At CoinDCX, Sumit has been the driving force behind onboarding 50 million Indians into crypto. To turn that statement into a reality, Sumit has been instrumental in introducing CoinDCX investment app that simplifies buying and selling crypto in minimal steps, through INR. He holds an Undergraduate and Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
